Join the Catholic Finance Association as we host Brian Shea, Vice Chairman of BNY Mellon, the oldest bank in the United States. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Investment Services, covering approximately 70% of the bank’s overall revenue, while sitting on the BNY Mellon Executive Committee.

Among other topics, Mr. Shea will discuss the path to professional excellence in the finance world, including the ways in which our personal formation can improve our service in the workplace, and to the world at large.

Prior to his career at BNY Mellon, Mr. Shea served as Chairman and CEO of Pershing, a BNY Mellon company, providing leadership for all global affiliates.  He also has served on the Board of the NASD (now FINRA), the NASD (now FINRA) Dispute Resolution Board, the Board of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), and the Board of the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI)

A graduate of St. John’s University, Mr. Shea earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, and now serves on the university’s Board of Trustees. He is also on the Board of St. John’s University’s Institute for Catholic Schools and the Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation. He is the past chairman of the Bishop’s Advisory Committee for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and serves on the Archdiocese of New York Cardinal’s Committee for Charity.
